Join Time Bankers on Sunday March 26, for a walk in the Zoo. Sharon Englisch will lead this walk of approximately 2.7 miles. The walk will all be on paved trails. The trail is not always flat, there are a few small hills. We will walk at a leisurely pace.
The Zoo still requires passes. Sharon will have reserved some so it is very important that you make a reservation. We will meet at 10:15 am for a walk start at 10:30.
Use the Connecticut Avenue entrance to the Zoo at 3001 Connecticut Avenue NW. This entrance is equidistant from both Woodley Park/-Zoo/ Adams Morgan Station and Cleveland Park Station. The entrance to the Zoo is about a 7-minute walk up Connecticut Avenue from the Metro station. It is an uphill walk from the Metro (but downhill to return to Metro!) The walk is flat from Cleveland Park station. Both L1 and L2 busses stop in front of the Zoo entrance. There is parking available, using the entrance at 3001 Connecticut Avenue NW. If you plan to drive and park you must reserve a paid parking pass online before your visit. Parking is a flat rate of $30 and spaces are extremely limited.
RSVP to timebankevents@sstimebank.org or to ask questions. Reservations are required. The Zoo still requires passes. Sharon will have reserved some so it is very important that you make a reservation. Walkers will be notified of any changes due to weather.
Bring water. There are no drinking fountains at the start of the walk but there are restrooms.
You might want to have a mask if you choose to enter any building inside Zoo.
This walk is people only, no pets.
Dress for the weather.
There are side trails in Zoo that you may choose to explore once we finish. These other trails are not all paved.
