Timebank member Lori Kaplan will lead a group up to 6 plus herself on a walk of moderately high difficulty (3 hours). The walk will be the 7-mile Rachel Carson Greenway / Northwest Branch Trail.   The distance is about 7 miles total. We will walk at a moderate pace. This loop trail meanders along the creek and has some elevation (311 feet) with nice rock formation views. It typically takes about 3 hours with a stop for a snack after we cross the bridge at the turnaround point. The surface is dirt with lots of tree roots and some rocky areas requiring some scrambling on the first half. There are also areas where hikers will need to traverse small streams. After the turnaround, the second half, the Northwest branch side, is considerably flatter and easier to navigate.

The departure point for the Rachel Carson Greenway / Northwest Branch Trail walk is in the parking lot at the dam, roughly across Rt.29 from Trader Joe's.
